A Note About Privacy

When using a blog it is important to always remember who can read it, just like you would if you were keeping a diary or journal.

You have the right to decide who can see you work and who cannot. Some students may decide that they wish to keep their English blog private, so that no one other than the teacher can see what has been written. To do this, go to your blog and click the Settings tab. Then click Permissions. Be sure that you have selected either "Only People I Choose" or "Blog Authors."

Other students like the idea that their writing may be shared with a wider audience. Many times I have asked students for permission to share their writing with other teachers, students, parents and even the school's administration. If you like the idea of reaching a wider audience with your writing, then go to Settings and Permissions and select "anyone."

You can still limit who can comment on your blog by going to Settings and Comments. I would encourage you to limit comments to only "members of your blog" or "Registered Users." You do not want anyone to leave rude or hurtful comments on your blog anonymously.
